ABOUT

Born 1997 in East Yorkshire, England.

Artist based in Lincoln / East Yorkshire.

I stay subtle, I let the viewer interpret my work how they wish. It is a silent form of activism. I'm not in your face, I'm gentle and calming. But my subject matter is heavy, its destroying, it's a call for action.

Growing up in a small village which mainly consisted of fields, I learnt to love nature from a young age. It was my happy place, my safe place, my home. Noticing more and more that land is being built on and destroyed to cater for the ever growing population and housing issues really lit a spark in my art. From then on I created art regarding the destruction of the landscape and the environment by humans.

My recent series of work, Bleached, 2018 is looking into the Anthropocene and the Auto-Destructive Art Movement and how man has and is interrupting the landscape and its natural forms. Why do humans feel the need to interfere with nature?

Bleached consists of four photographs that have been subtly manipulated by a destructive and harmful household item so many of us use but are maybe unaware of the destruction and pollution bleach causes to the natural environment. Showing the delicate and beautiful natural environment being manipulated and slowly ruined by humans, as the bleach overtime disrupts the photographs.

"I realised if climate change is changing the weather, then there is no place on earth, no matter how wild it looks, unaltered by people."
