Did you know that it is estimated that every square mile of ocean contains 46,000 pieces of floating plastic? If we carry on like we are with plastic pollution, by 2050 there will be more plastic in the ocean than there is fish.
Is this how we want the human race to be remembered? For ruining one of the most fascinating nature has to offer, the ocean?
This project consisted of an installation which was scaled down to how much plastic was in that square metre space of ocean. These pieces of plastic were all found on beaches near my home. A video piece accompanied this installation piece, with graphic footage and statistics.
This piece was an educational, and thought provoking project that I hope had an impact on viewers.
